چکیده

Currently bicycle-sized motor speed controllers do not utilize regenerative braking techniques that can greatly increase battery life and range. The objective of this research project is to design, implement and test a regenerative motor controller. The most intensive research will address the design of a three-phase synchronous regenerative motor controller. The experimentation involved will be the tuning of the controller to achieve the greatest range while keeping the component count to a minimum. The market for E-Bike motor controllers is growing quickly here and abroad. This research is important because it will be the first known controller that actually makes use of the available kinetic energy in bike travel.
